After her resignation, Hon. Malu Dreyer was bid farewell as Minister President of Rhineland-Palatinate with a summer celebration in the courtyard of the Rhineland-Palatinate State Chancellery. In her speech she also highlighted the  partnership between Rwanda and the State of Rhineland-Palatinate: "There is not one Federal State that has a constant and great parternship as we do in Africa, in Rwanda and this for more than 40 years"

In his speech, the new Minister President, Hon. Alexander Schweitzer described her as a politician with all her heart who always had a good future for everyone in mind in her work.
