E-Passport

All e-passport applications are submitted through IREMBO platform:

Services  >>  Immigration and Emigration >> Application for E-Passport  >> Apply

Please note that the Rwandan Identity Card is mandatory to apply for the E-passport!
Kindly fill in your personal information, upload requested documents and follow all steps up until the payment. 

After submitting the E-Passport Application you will receive an e-mail requesting you to approach the nearest Embassy to give your biometrics (fingerprints, signature and digital biometric photo).

Should you not receive an email, kindly contact the Directorate General of Immigration and Emigration under following contact:

Once received,  send us an email providing the following information: 

• a scan of your current passport

• a scan of your residence permit

• your full address

• a contact phone number

• two dates and a time for one of your preferred appointment times

Emergency Travel Document (ETD)

This service facilitates the issuance of an emergency travel document to Rwandans or Rwandan residents living abroad, foreigners in Rwanda, or their children born in Rwanda, who have lost their travel documents and need to travel back home.

NOTE: The ETD is NOT a substitute for a visa! If your residence permit has expired, kindly contact your county´s respective authority.
